General Assembly Meeting, Portugal
The TEAPOTS General Assembly meeting, 10 - 11 July 2024, hosted by the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal, was a remarkable event that highlighted collaboration, innovation, and community empowerment. This meeting was conducted alongside the FRONTSH1P project, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and strengthening partnerships.
The first day of the meeting began with a warm welcome for all partners, who gathered over coffee before assembling in the conference room. The INL team delivered a presentation introducing their cutting-edge laboratory and outlining the day's agenda.
An online presentation by Fabio Sagnelli on Open Space Technology titled "Connecting Regions: Sustainable Synergies to Empower Communities" set the stage for the day's discussions. This session sparked lively debates among participants from both TEAPOTS and FRONTSH1P, delving into the potential of Open Space Technology to drive sustainable growth and empower local communities. The consortiums then split into three collaborative groups, each focused on exploring different aspects of connecting regions through sustainable synergies. The partners freely moved between groups, contributing to detailed discussions on key questions central to the theme.
After a refreshing lunch break, the groups reconvened for an open discussion, presenting their insights and ideas to all attendees. This collaborative atmosphere continued into the evening, as the projects travelled to Porto for a cultural tour of a famous winery, followed by a social dinner that featured local cuisine. This outing not only enriched the participants' understanding of the region but also strengthened the bonds between partners.
The second day was dedicated to TEAPOTS partners focusing on the ongoing work and project status. The meeting commenced with a presentation by the project coordinator, outlining the current progress and future milestones. Each partner then presented updates on their respective tasks, providing a comprehensive overview of the project's advancements. Following these presentations, an open discussion addressed important topics and challenges, fostering a transparent and collaborative environment. After the lunch break, the workshop continued with two detailed discussion groups, building on the previous day's work to further refine strategies and solutions.
The event closed with an informative tour of the INL laboratories, showcasing the cutting-edge research and facilities. We extend our thanks to our partners at INL for organizing this exceptional event.
