Ente Regionale per i Servizi all’Agricoltura e alle Foreste
ERSAF is an instrumental body of the Lombardy Region, in charge of carrying out technical and promotional activities for the development and innovation of the agricultural and forestry sectors and for the rural territory, favoring transversality, multifunctionality and integration.
With reference to the agricultural sector, ERSAF's functions include specialized training, technical assistance, development of technological innovation and business competitiveness, research and innovative services to farms and agribusinesses, promotion of Lombardy's products and production, including organic farming, as well as support for agriculture in mountainous, marginal and protected areas.
ERSAF also conducts technological and scientific research and directed at ecology and economics on issues of interest to mountain areas.
Role in the Project
In the TEAPOTS project, ERSAF is involved in the exploitation and dissemination role, in a context to increase the knowledge and assess the efficiency of innovative practices promoting the development of Lombard agriculture in terms of renewable energy use. This will be realized through the connection with farmers and food producers’ associations that will help to create a network to meet the end-users’ necessities, employing a multi-actor approach.
ERSAF is a supporting partner in Virtual Replication activities in northern Italy with the aim to provide insights on biomass availability, energy demand and economic interest mainly related to small producers in the sector of wine production.
As a local authority, in synergy with UNIPD, ERSAF will work to provide proof of the safety of the product, becoming the starting point for an activity to help the diffusion of biochar in agriculture based on scientific data and proofs.
