TEAPOTS presented at ECOS and ETAGRO 2025
Our partners at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) represented the TEAPOTS at two high-profile scientific events: ECOS 2025 in Paris, France and the 18th International Conference of the Hellenic Association of Agricultural Economists in Florina, Greece, highlighting the project’s innovative approaches to sustainable energy and agri-food systems.
At ECOS 2025: The 38th International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimisation, Simulation and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems, held in Paris, France, in July 2025, researchers Dimitris Manolakos, Dimitrios Tyris, and Tasos Skiadopoulos delivered an oral presentation titled “Optimising the design of an ORC engine to maximise renewable energy generation from agricultural waste pyrolysis.”
In their paper, the team introduced the concept of the TEAPOTS project, presented key agricultural waste valorisation processes, and showcased the TEAPOTS Integrated Solution (TIS), and highlighted the development of a high-efficiency Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC).
The ECOS conference series is one of the most established global forums on modern aspects of Thermal Sciences, with a special focus on Thermodynamics and its applications in energy conversion systems and processes. The 2025 edition brought together scientists, engineers, and innovators to explore the next generation of energy technologies.
In October, Vasiliki Kanaki from AUA presented TEAPOTS at the 18th International Conference of the Hellenic Association of Agricultural Economists (ETAGRO 2025), held at the University of Western Macedonia in Florina, Greece. The presentation, titled “Farmers’ attitudes towards innovative waste management,” was part of the session “Environmental Transitions in Agriculture and Aquaculture.”
The presentation explained study on how agricultural waste is currently handled and assessing farmers’ perceptions of the innovative technology being developed by TEAPOTS. Kanaki also introduced the Greek Pilot, describing how the TEAPOTS Integrated Solution (TIS) is being prepared and demonstrated there.
The ETAGRO conference brought together leaders, researchers, policymakers, and producers to discuss the sustainable transformation of rural economies amid climate change and digitalisation. By fostering dialogue between academia and stakeholders, the event aimed to bridge the gap between research and practical implementation.
