The University of Padova Showcases TEAPOTS at Venice 2024
From November 25th to 27th, 2024, the University of Padova proudly represented the TEAPOTS project at Venice 2024: 10th Symposium on Energy from Biomass and Waste, held in the historic city of Venice, Italy. This prestigious event, hosted at the impressive Conference Centre of Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, gathered over 200 participants from academia, industry, and public sectors, all focused on advancing sustainable solutions in the waste and waste-to-energy sectors.
UNIPD’s contribution to this year’s symposium centred on the characterization of biomass residues. The team presented a systematic literature review exploring plant- and animal-based biomass residues and their potential as feedstock for compost heat recovery systems (CHRSs). These systems, which play a key role in the TEAPOTS project, will soon be deployed at full scale across two pilot sites.
The research not only emphasizes biomass's innovative potential in renewable energy but also aligns with the symposium's mission to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and promote technological advancements in waste management.
We are excited to share that the paper, published in the proceedings, will soon be available on our website, offering further insights into this critical work. A heartfelt thank you to our partners for sharing the mission of the TEAPOTS project.
