TEAPOTS Highlighted at Thessaly at the Heart of Circular Economy

The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) took part in the "Thessaly at the Heart of Circular Economy" event, held in Larissa, Greece, from April 9 to 11, 2025. The event brought together experts, researchers, and stakeholders committed to advancing circular economy practices across various sectors.

Representing CERTH, Vasilis Filippou contributed two presentations that focused on innovative approaches to renewable energy production and resource recovery.

On April 10, Filippou presented on the topic "Energy Production from Thermal Utilization of Biomass." His talk explored ongoing research in thermal technologies for converting biomass into clean energy. He emphasized the role of biomass in regional energy systems and the importance of integrating such solutions into sustainable development strategies.

On the final day, April 11, Filippou presented the TEAPOTS project. Under the title "Utilizing Residues for Energy Production," the presentation highlighted how the project aims to transform agricultural residues into valuable energy resources. TEAPOTS supports circular economy goals by reducing waste, promoting energy self-sufficiency, and creating added value from underutilized biomass.

The "Thessaly at the Heart of Circular Economy" event served as a pivotal platform for showcasing innovative strategies in sustainable energy and waste valorisation, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing circular economy initiatives. CERTH’s participation reflects its strong commitment to supporting energy transition and innovation through research, collaboration, and practical solutions in the circular economy landscape.
